Beneath the Line

PHOTOS BY DANIEL OWEN

This photographic essay follows the day-to-day life of the Hart family from Oak Hill, Ohio for a year as they make the most of their poverty by focusing family.  With three adults and five children living together in a small trailer, they are able to survive without running water, sewage, intermittent electricity and lack of work in the small community that was hit hard by a recession and thirty years of industrial outsourcing.
